The purpose of this Privacy Statement is to outline our obligations with respect to the proper collection, use and disclosure of personal information of our clients and employees in compliance with applicable privacy legislation and industry practice. In order to ensure that this Privacy Statement is kept up to date, we reserve the right to change it from time to time.

Who is Accountable for my personal information?

We are responsible for all personal information under our control, even if the information is not in our possession. We have developed policies and procedures to give effect to this policy, including those relating to the collection, use or disclosure of personal information, the protection of personal information, the handling of complaints, the training of personnel and the communication of our policies to clients and employees. Why does BWireless™ collect personal information?

We collect personal information for the following purposes:

    to process client orders or service requests;
    to establish and maintain client accounts in WebCell, our online store;
    to administer promotions, contests and events;
    to understand client needs and preferences, and to personalize the delivery of content to clients;
    to develop, enhance or market products and services;
    to monitor, manage, develop and optimize our web site;
    to manage and develop our business and operations, including personnel and employment matters;
    to meet legal and regulatory requirements.

We may specify our purposes orally, electronically or in writing.

Does BWireless™ require my consent to collect, use or disclose my personal information?

We require your consent to collect, use or disclose your personal information, unless otherwise permitted by law. We will not use or disclose your personal information already collected for other purposes unless we obtain your consent or unless otherwise permitted by law. Generally, we will seek consent to use and disclose personal information at the same time as we collect the information.

In some cases, your consent is implied if we ask you to provide personal information for a stated purpose. For example, we can only provide you with wireless products and services if you provide us with your credit information. In other cases, we may ask you to give your express consent to use your personal information. For example, we may require express consent when you subscribe to our e-newsletter or in order to send you promotional information.

Subject to contractual provisions that require otherwise, you may withdraw or refuse consent provided that we are given reasonable notice. We will inform you of the consequences of withdrawing your consent, if any.

What personal information does BWireless™ collect?

We will collect personal information only for the purposes we have identified and that are reasonable in the circumstances. Examples of personal information that we collect include name, address, phone number and email address.

How does BWireless™ collect personal information?

We will collect personal information only through methods that are lawful and will try to collect personal information from you directly unless authorized by you to collect it from a third party or otherwise as provided by law.

How will BWireless™ ensure the accuracy of my personal information?

We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that personal information in our control is accurate and complete. You may request corrections to your personal information. If we reject your request for a correction, we will make a notation of such request and rejection on your file or personal information.

How will BWireless™ limit the use, disclosure and retention of my personal information?

We will use or disclose personal information only for the purpose(s) for which it was collected.
We may disclose personal information to:

  • a person who in our reasonable judgment is seeking the information as an agent of the individual;
  • a company or individual engaged by us to perform functions on our behalf, such as research or data processing;
  • a credit reporting agency;
  • a public authority or agent of a public authority, if in our reasonable judgment it appears that there is imminent danger to life or property which could be avoided or minimized by disclosure of the information; or
  • a third party or parties, where the individual concerned consents to such disclosure or as required or authorized by law.


We will retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil stated purposes, as required for legal or business purposes, or as required by law. Subsequently, we will destroy, erase or make anonymous such information. However, we will retain for at least one year personal information that has been used to make a decision about a client or employee.

How does BWireless™ protect my personal information?

We will protect personal information in our control against risks of loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, modification or destruction by security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity and format of the information.

Security measures may include, for example, the physical security of offices and data centres, and electronic security measures such as firewalls, passwords, encryption and personal identification numbers.

Can I access my personal information?

Upon written notice from you setting forth reasonable particulars, we will, within 30 days or such longer period in the event we obtain an extension, provide access to all your personal information in our possession and advise you what the information is being used for and to whom it has been disclosed, if applicable.

We reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee for providing access to personal information.

If we refuse your request for access, we will inform you of the reasons for rejection, the relevant provision of any applicable legislation on which we rely and resources for redress available to you, including a privacy commissioner or similarly titled official in your jurisdiction.

Whom do I contact if I have a complaint?

If you have a complaint about how your personal information is being handled by us, you may file a written complaint with our Personal Information Officer at either the email or mailing address listed above. Such complaint must clearly state the nature of the dispute and contain all complete particulars of your contact information.

We will acknowledge receipt of a complaint, investigate such complaint and notify you of the outcome of the complaint, including any relevant steps taken.

If a complaint has not been resolved to your satisfaction, you may ask for a review of our decision from, or seek redress with, the privacy commissioner or similarly titled official in your jurisdiction.
